FAQs
  • When I log-in I see a dashboard – what does everything mean?

You will see lots of numbers in your dashboard which tell you lots of information. These are:

    • Total number of students in your school
    • Total number of students in your country
    • Total number of schools in your country
    • Leaderboard:
      • Where you rank in your school this month – based on number of activities completed that calendar month
      • Your school’s rank in your country this month – based on total number of activities completed by your entire school that calendar month
      • Average activities per student in your school over the last 12 months
      • Average activities per student in your country over the last 12 months
    • Tracker of the activities you have completed during the current month
    • Click through to this month – you can access all the previous months’ content
    • Trophy cabinet – here you will collect trophies for the number of activities you complete in a calendar month: bronze (5 activities), silver (10 activities), gold (15 activities)
  • How do I know if my school is registered for Chemistry Club?

The best thing to do is check with your teacher, they should know if your school is signed-up. You can also try registering with your school e-mail address to see if the site will allow you to register for a profile to start learning.

If neither of these work then you can contact the team at the Salters’ Institute and they can check. Submit your question using the contact us form.

  • I am trying to become a Chemistry Clubber but it says my e-mail domain isn’t recognised even though my teacher told me I could register. What should I do?

The likelihood is that the domain we have for your school doesn’t match the one you are trying to register with. Check that you are using your school e-mail address.

If you are using your school e-mail address then let your teacher know there is a problem or use the contact us page and we will try to sort the issue as soon as possible.

  • I know that Chemistry Club has been running for a while. Can I access content from previous months?

Yes, you can access all the previous months’ content, just use the toggle system at the top to find the month you want to complete content in.

  • Some of the activities aren’t available to me at the moment, why is this?

Every weekday at 8am new content and activities are shared including: videos, infographics, fill in the blanks, guess the element, word searches and quizzes. Activities later on in the month might not have been released yet, come back and try them out when they go live.

Your progress is tracked to show you which activities you have completed and which are live and you still haven’t done.

  • How many attempts can I make on the activities?

There is no limit to the number of attempts that you can make on any of the activities so don’t worry about getting things wrong. No one sees your scores, this is all about having fun and learning more about chemistry!

  • What do I get for completing the activities each month? What do the trophies mean?

Work towards filling your Chemistry Clubber trophy cabinet each month. You will be able to gain a bronze (5 activities), silver (10 activities) or gold (15 activities) trophy each month and start to collect them.

If you collect six bronze trophies then you will get some ‘Choose Chemistry’ merch.

The top Chemistry Clubbers i.e. those who have completed the most activities that year, are invited to our Annual Awards Ceremony in December to celebrate their achievements, could it be you?

  • I’ve forgotten my password, how do I reset it?

To reset your password, you can use the ‘Forgotten your password’ link which can be found on the login screen. You will need to input your e-mail address and it will send you a link to reset it.

If your school e-mail address doesn’t allow you to receive messages, then use the contact us form and we can reset your password for you.

  • Can I see what my friends have done?

You won’t be able to see what they have done individually but you will see how you are doing as a school on the Chemistry Clubbers Worldwide page. Battle against schools from across the world to claim the top spot and help your school win prizes.

  • I am about to change school, will I have to create a new profile?

No, you won’t need to create a new profile. If you create a new profile, you will lose all your progress so far.

Your teacher can tell us that you are no longer at the school in their portal. Once this has been done we can allocate you to a new school. This will ensure that you keep all of your trophies and progress to date.

The Salters’ Institute is the flagship charity of the Salters’ Company.

Chemistry has been our passion since we were founded in 1918. Since then, we have continued to promote excellence in the teaching and learning of chemistry and related sciences. We connect learners and educators to opportunities that transform their perception of chemistry, what it can do, how it shapes our lives and the career pathways it offers. Chemistry opens doors.

Through our digital and in-person outreach, we provide creative, fun and inspiring spaces to explore chemistry, discover its potential as a subject, and recognise those who are using chemistry to make the world a better place.
